Geo-Spatial Analysis using PostGIS

PostGIS is a wonderful free tool we encourage anyone to explore, especially students who want to learn more about how to find a point (a coordinate) in a polygon (a group of points representing an area).

We have been involved in several projects that rely heavily on geospatial information. One such project is for instance the development of multiple tools and piplines for data processing of scooter data. The scooter provides information such as the start coordinates of a trip, the speed, multiple points for along the trip’s trajectory, and the end position. We have been tasked to develop infrastructure, code integration with major vendors, data processing pipelines and geospatial analysis tools.

Another project we have had involvement with is traffic events, an event can be anything, a car accident, crossing a traffic light, vehicles of different types crossing an intersection, etc. There are many ways data is gathered, it can be a police report, sensors along a highway, etc. We have had the pleasure to assist in important projects with city and state agencies to develop tools for processing this data and making it available for decision makers.

We are constantly involved in projects like these, so far we have had great success, and we look forward to continuing powering the vision of our partners.
